Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

6/22/2019

Early human history at Oldupai Gorge
We visited a study of the development of humankind at Oldupai Gorge, where, over 50 years ago, archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the fossilized remains of some of the earliest known human species, an estimated 1.8 million years old. We continued wildlife viewing while driving the rough dirt roads across the plains to the Four Seasons Hotel Safari Lodge in the Serengeti, built for unprecedented pampering. The first night we had a special barbecue dinner in the lodge's Boma Grill, enhanced by a Maasai traditional dance performance.
